Thank you for the compliment on Soldiers Tribut. I designrd this first as a poster for a buddy of mine who served in the korea war. It was meant to draw emotion.
We lived in Africa for 5 years - from 1998 - 2002. Traveled a bit while there and tried to spend as much time as possible in South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Tunisia. Loved the land, the light , and the wildlife. Just a fantastic experience for my kids. Hope to go back someday - before the habitat and wildlife have forever vanished.
Judi, That Crowned Crane picture wasn't taken with a digital, it was taken with a 25-yr old minolta 7000i with a 310mm. I haven't taken action birds with a digital. My Marabou stork on this site was with a digi (Canon Powershot A70). But I really can't give much advise, sorry. Bearing in mind that this is a website used mainly to upload wallpapers, it's perhaps difficult to draw the line between artistic tragedy and pure, raw horror. if u'd like to give it a shot anyway, why don't u upload ur images and allow the mods to decide whether it's suitable for this website? =)
otherwise i suggest taking a compilation of ur pics and set up a gallery of ur own in ur own website...
Thank you for such a nice compliment on "Gone to Carolina in My Mind". It's fun to get new comments on older pictures, and I'm glad you liked it that much. You have some beautiful pictures of animals. "Amber Eyes" is one of the most fascinating shots I've yet seen on Caedes. Please keep posting!
Judi, thank you so much for the kind words on "Sun-Kissed". This was truly an accidental picture that was meant to happen. Words like yours are what keeps my camera snapping pics!
And once more. Thank you. I use a Canon 10D, in this case with a 100-400mm zoom at 400mm. I was a bit surprised at how much depth of field I was getting.
Judi, thanks for the nice comments you left on "Neuschwanstein". Walt Disney did use this castle as the basis for this fairytale theme park castle. One interesting thing about Neuschwanstein is that the throne room is unfinished (there's no throne)....Ludwig drowned in a nearby lake before ever having the chance to rule from his castle.
Thanks for your comment on "pick me bee" Judi.I should really put my specs on when I take photos. those lines are power lines and I really didn't see them until you mentioned them (but in the lower right rather than lower left) I will have to erase them and upload the photo again. Thanks for enlightening me. Cheers. Al.
Ps. thanks for your comment on "Succulent" also Judi.
Thanks Judi for stopping by & the warm comments on "Tipetoe Thru the Tulips". It was a rather large planting of them & went on for a bit, quite lovely! Happy Day!
Thank you for stopping by & leaving warm, kind words on "Pretty in Pink". This was my favorite photo of all that I toook that day. I am glad you enjoyed! Again, thanks, Mimi
Thanks for the comment on Honest Abe. You should try to visit washington d.c. there are so many sites. Involves alot of walking. But I had a great time.
Thanks, Judi -- glad you liked the Wine Glasses series. The original snaps were indeed terrific. I enjoyed fooling around with them. Also, notice my new burger icon? See, you got me thimpkin again.
I'm so glad see you're still continuing to post those wonderful wildlife photos. They make fantastic backgrounds. Also, I appreciate the kind compliment on "Watching the Sun Bake". :-)
Hi Judi, thanks for looking at my submissions. I still have a few NZ pics left but I didn't want to over do them. ;^) I'll submit a couple more over the next few days just for you. 8^)
Hi Judi, I hope your son can get to NZ soon. It is far away for anyone outside of Australia and the south Pacific but it is well worth the effort. Maybe you can pop across to Australia as well because the outbreak has some breath taking scenery as well. ;^)
Your comment about "Fire on the Water" was encouraging. I'm glad you liked it. I took the opportunity to look at your gallery, and you must live in an interesting place to be able to get such great animal shots.
Thank you for your comment on (Lakeside Splendor) Judi. I was hesitant to poat this one at first since it was early in the series and did not have the vivid colors of some of the later shots. In the end I decided this was still the best so I'm glad you liked it~
Judi - thanks for your post on 'Grey mosque' - the Agia Sophia is about 1km from the mosque in this pic - this one is the one right next to the grand bazaar (facing the bosphorous) and I still can't remember its name...
Hi...thanks for comments on "Franks' Night Out"...now that you mention it, he DOES look like John Kerry..hehe..just hope John Kerry has more upstairs than Frank...thanks again. : Pat.

Judi; Thanks for your comments on "Water Sprites". I'm glad you liked it. I used a Canon F-1 set at approximately 8 seconds. (On a tri-pod of course).
I liked your quote:
"Take only photographs...leave only footprints"
That is my motto. I always leave a place, I photograph, at least as clean as I found it.
Thanks Judi for viewing my Pear Meteor photo. I'm glad that you liked it and took the time to comment. The star backgound makes a good wallpaper by itself but if I uploaded it all you would see would be a black thumbnail. I may upload it at a later time. I got the idea from pixelpusher's Stoned Apples image.

"Simply look with perceptive eyes at the world about you, and trust to your own reactions and convictions. Ask yourself: "Does this subject move me to feel, think and dream? Can I visualize a print - my own personal statement of what I feel and want to convey - from the subject before me?"

Judi;

Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art.
It is a solar phenomenon,
where the artist collaborates with the sun.

Hi Judi. I saw you left me a note on "In Terms Of Light". It was a shot I tried repeatedly over a week, and finally got before the weather changed. My poor wife put up with a week of uptight artistic angst, but she kept encouraging me to go back until i got the shot. I guess I was lucky.
Hello Judi!
Thanks for the nice comments!
Let me state here once more that I am not a professional photographer, because there is one or two other things better than that, the one thing is programming and the other...
Anyway, how many photographers make a decent living?
Paul
Hi Judi, after I posted my comment on 'Watcher', I must admit that I looked in your gallery, and couldn't resist putting 'Wolf Creek Pass' into my favourites as well. Thanks so much for replying, and sharing those wonderful pictures...Tony.
Happy Holidays!
