Hi Charlie, Thank you for taking the time to comment on my photo "Wing check" I am glad you enjoy my Hummingbirds, they are still here by the way. I think they take a rest in Florida, then continue further south.
Thanks Charlie for commenting on my war bird picture “B-24”. Finding a shutter speed that was fast enough to freeze the plane but not to fast as to freeze the propellers.

Hello Charlie. I'm way behind in my comments. I want to thank you for all your nice comments on recent images added to my gallery. I cherish your comments and appreciate your support.

Thanks Charlie for the comments on my picture “Break Time”. I was following this squirrel taking pictures when he decided to go out on a limb and lay down.

Hi there, many thanks for your visit and nice comments on Upstate NY...there, as here, you had to be on the lookout for the fall colors as many places had not changed too much or are not getting the usual vibrancy due to lack of rain this past summer...here in Toronto some areas don't have alot of color while other areas, closer to water are nicer...glad I saw this one and that you enjoyed it.
Charlie, thank a lot for your wonderful comment on my 'Zeeland Countryside (35), Reflections' image. Your support is higly appreciated. Regards, Cornelius
Thanks Charlie for taking the time to comment on my picture “Glass”. The name of this butterfly is Glasswing. I used a Canon D60 with a Sigma 105mm macro equipped with a Canon ring flash.
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Hello Charlie. My 07 Perry Fair image was taken shortly after sunset when the sky still had some light. I appreciate your support and nice comments on it. Thanks,

My Yoyo image is another motion blur capture at the Perry Fair. The inspiration for these images came from Life magazine last year. Thanks Charlie for stopping by to view and comment on it. I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks again Charlie for the comments on my picture “Leaf Walker II”. The butterfly house will be closing at the end of October so no winter butterfly shots this year.
Thanks Charlie for commenting on my squirrel picture “Crack’n Nuts”. This was my first attempt with this lens setup. The lens is a 400mm non zoom lens with a 12mm extension tube. I had to use an ISO of 800 to compensate for a very cloudy day and a non stabilized lens.
Hey Charlie, thks so much for stopping by "Oh Yeah", my blazing sunset. That's exactly the way it was too. Practically nothing done in PS. It was a very unusual sunset for Louisiana. Normally don't see those except out west. Glad you liked it.

Hello Charlie, I enjoyed your comment on my photo "Created by God" That is my favorite Butterfly and I don't see them too often. I am blessed to have all this wonderful wildlife in my own back yard.
Charlie,
Thks for stopping by "Ca'mon, Stare Me Down", an image of my orange tabby. She is still with me. She resides here at the house with four other cats. She is 8 years old now. She started trucking as a kitten.

Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/
Thanks Charlie for the comments on my butterfly picture “Spot”. For this shot I tried to position myself so the entire butterfly was the same distance from the lens. This technique is one way to achieve focus on the entire butterfly.
Thanks again Charlie for taking the time to comment on my picture “Spot II”. The old saying even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile comes to mind and I have some experience with squirrels.
Hi, thanks a million for your comments on P.M, I'm flattered. Really glad I got out and took some pictures of where I live (!) even living somewhere as photogenic in London you tend to overlook things that you see every day. I'm encouraged by the response, thanks so much.
Hey Charlie,
Thanks for commenting on my photo of the Art Museum! I think I like that version a little better, too... although it was hard for me to chop off the bottom portion of the building. I appreciated you stopping by and giving feedback!
Thank you for commenting on Still in Love. I didn't even notice the tilting horizon line until you mentioned it. I just had an uneasy feeling as if something were wrong. Very helpful, Thanks.
Thanks Charlie for the kind comments on my butterfly picture “White Stripe”. Once in awhile I blow the dust off my old camera and take it out for a shoot. This picture was taken on one such outing with my old Canon D60.
Thanks again Charlie for the comments on my picture “The Supervisor”. For this shot I experimented using a 400mm prime lens with a 12mm extension tube.
Charlie,
thks so much for stopping by "Bayou Nezpique". It is a rarity rather than the norm for bayou water to be that clear but it certainly was on that day. The new Canon 40D doesn't hurt either. I am pleased with the results far more often than with the Canon XTi. The dynamic range capture of this camera does indeed show up in the images.

Hi Charlie, thanks so much for the kind words on Lyell River 2, and for any other recent posts I've neglected to thank you for. I'm having such a hard time keeping up these days.... -Donna

Hi Charlie, thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my photo "American Bald Eagle" I am very proud of this one, and I am blessed to have found a place to get good close ups of these Eagles. I am amazed at there Beauty and plan on many more visits to the World Bird Sanctuary.
Hello Charlie! I've been unable to spend the amount of time on caedes like I want too and I'm way behind on my comments. As you well know, this sys admin stuff can be time consuming. Thank you for your recent comments on images in my Gallery. I appreciate your support. Although I haven't had the time to comment on your images, I have viewed, enjoyed and received inspiration from them. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks Charlie for the comments on my picture “Woody” I was experimenting with the use of extension tubes on long lenses when this bird landed about 20’ from me.
Thank-you Charlie for complimenting "Gentle Wish" Much appreciated :) BTW you have a very "mucical" gallery full of some very impressive captures. (I love your sense of humor too!)

Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
Charlie,
You been busy my boy, spying on my gallery. I want to thank you for doing so and for your comments on many of my images. Glad you enjoyed looking at them.

Thank you Charlie, for the nice comment on "the waiting is the hardest part" My new camera will be here next week and the waiting will be over. I did a makeover on my bird studio, added a bird bath, and can't wait to post new photos. Thank you for your support.
My Sandy Beach 2 image was taken on a very foggy and overcast day. I had to do some heavy photoshoping to get the detail that I wanted in this image. Thanks Charlie for your support and comments on this photo. Happy Holidays.

Falling Creek is a small creek in the Piedmont National Refuse. This is the first time I saw this much water flowing over this granite ledge. Thanks Charlie for the kind comments.

Thanks for the comment on "Diamond Valley Lake" and sorry about the slow reply. I was stuck on jury duty for a couple of weeks and doing my work at night. I'm finally catching up on my sleep and getting my life back to normal.
thank you so much for all the fine comments!
About Florida being littered with plastic flamengos, I'll see about that in December! I'll be there for a holliday!
None of the ideas expressed above are actually mine. They are told to me by Luthor and Ferdinand, the five inch tall space aliens who live under my desk. In return for these ideas, I have given them permission to eat any dust bunnies they may find under there.

Thank you Charlie for the comment on "Unknown bird" I found out it is a Chukar, from the Pheasant family. They release them in wildlife areas for hunters to kill them, how nice. I am glad the ones I saw survied for now. Ed and Garrett identified the bird for me.
