Not until the creation and maintenance of decent conditions of life for all men are recognized and accepted as a common obligation of all men . . . shall we . . . be able to speak of mankind as civilized.

Thank you so much for your warm feedback to "winter lake". To tell you the truth it is one of my favourites, it has the winter dreamy wonderland feeling... So glad you sensed that. Stay tuned.
Hello Lane....Many thanks for taking the time to have a look at (STONEHENGE) and for your comments, it is very much appreciated....I have a few taken during the daylight hours , but they don't have the same impact as this one....Thanks again...All the best....Mick.
hi Lane,
thanks for commenting on'washed away'. that street is actually closed off with a high fence and a barrier. i simply put my lens up to one of the chain links and shot it that way in attempt to have more of an impact on the shot.

it is amazing to see. i have some more pictures posted here if you are interested in looking, http://community.webshots.com/user/inthewaitingline.
the population has gone from 1,000 people in 1981 to 12 people now. the mine fire is around 40 years old and is burning beneath the land. it basically started from some guy burning trash in the landfill and never put it out, and where it was there was an exposed vein of coal. they tried putting it out right away but were unsuccessful. the government started paying people to leave, about 42 million dollars, in 2002 the postal service revoked the zip code.
it's basically a town that exists no more if not for the few standing houses. it is so interesting to walk around and see steps in the grass that lead to no where, just foundations overgrown with weeds. the history is what is most amazing to me, the place used to have hotels and grocery stores, so many things to do and see, and now, just a lonely quiet place, which i find even more interesting.
it's too bad you don't live closer, i would love to take you there.
Thank you Lane for your feedback on one of my winter captures. Glad you left me some warm lines on "enchanted place". We had loads of snow last year in Poland and the neighbouring forest changed into some mystery land. It was a great opportunity to take shots and to wade through snow piles - not mentioning my soaked shoes, lol.
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Hi Lane,
I wanted to say thank you for your nice comment on 'Mountain Creek'. Mt. Baker is full of these little lush creeks! I need to get back up there and photograph more!! Thanks again!!
Thanks lots for your comment on "Gray Visions"...I seem to have an artistic taste for those "depressing" images...they speak louder to me the bright lively shots.
Im glad you liked "Gloom", the beach there is really nice, fun to surf in when the weather is good =)...

Hey, thanks for commenting on my river picture, I really appreciate it. You said you wished your camera could do that too. Are you saying that your camera isn't nice enough or you're not sure how to get that effect?
Thanks for the comment on Girl21(pose). I would have to say its hand draw with a mouse. I use Coral Draw and than touch up with Coral Paint for the finish.

If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Thank you Lane for the comments on 'Sapota Tree'.. actually when i shot the pic it started raining which made me rush [u can see the raindrops on leaves...], may be one reason the picture seems blurred
