Hi Todd, Thank you for your comment on "Pineapple Fountain (original)." Although I love taking pictures, I have to admit I am knew to learning how to speed up the shutter or adjust the f-settings, but I appreciate your advice, and now I'm motivated to check into my user's manual to figure all this out. You live in a beautiful town! I have family that lives in South Carolina, and the fountain is where my husband proposed, so it's a really special spot :) I have never been to the Navy shipyard, but my husband would be interested in that; he was in the Navy about two years. Looking forward to seeing how you capture the foutain!
Please....Pretty Please....don't hesitate to leave a honest critique. You wont hurt my feelings at all! I'm really trying to focus on live action/not set-up portraits (if there's such a category). I know that I need to purchase a few light umbrellas, but I did recently buy a decent flash(Speed light SB-600)for my D-60. What a difference it has made. I look at some of the other artist portraits and am totally in awe...and really want to develop like they have. Thanks in advance for any comments and/or suggestions.
Hi Todd..thanks so much for stopping by my image ~meditation~.
I did not have a tripod that day. I used one of the pews as a tripod! Thanks for all the kid and warm words you left. It was definitely a special moment for me and I feel privileged to have captured it. :)
Thanks Todd! I'm glad you swung in to take a look! I love your photo titled "my world" awesome. makes me want to live there allllllllllllll the time. screw pittsburgh! Thanks so much for the compliments, im just learning photoshop, so i added all those shadows on "pondering!" thank you thank you thank you!
Morning on the lake Was my first post to Caedes back in Dec. 2007. I did not think it was very good. I was wrong! It was the only image I posted that made it to the "permanent" gallery until May of 2009. It was taken with a tiny Pentax Optio S10 compact camera. The marshmallow man is a steam cloud and the boat is actually a pair of high voltage power line towers in the water. It is not HDR just drastically under exposed with color tweaked to the blue side (and probably other adjustments) done with "the GIMP". It doesn't take a great camera or great software to take a great picture, It takes a great artist. I hope to be one some day :0)

Hi Todd, nice to meet you and thank you for dropping by Portraiture...I appreciate your nice comments and will pass them along to my daughter...have fun here at caedes.
Whats up Todd...thanks for commenting on "Bridge Over Golden Water"...the shot was one exposure, for about 20 seconds to achieve the blurred water effect. With that type of shot and the weather that day, no multiple exposure/bracketing/HDR was necessary. Just a few filters and a sturdy tripod! It works great for fountains, especially when there's a lot of different colored lighting around at night...always turns out really good.
Wild Flowers - farm hbg9 - Pink Thanks for the complements on both Todd. Very encouraging.
As for the flower shot - add a manual flash and over power the ambient light(even direct sun as this one was shot) - expose for the flash. That's what makes the background dark. A smallish aperture and careful focus on an interesting subject helps. Go for it!

Thanks for the complements Todd. I have been wanting to get one of these apart for ages. Ever since I saw bookends made from 45 meg hard drives back when 500 meg was standard.
For Love and Memories Thanks for the complements Todd.
I posted the link to the original so that those who don't know could see allot can happen after the picture is taken. Or that is to say, not every good shot starts out that way ;0)
1Dollar US Currency I resisted mentioning the economy, but I was thinking along the same lines you were. Thanks for the complements. I'm sure we'll get it ironed out eventually!
Bee Purple! Thanks for the complements Todd. I was amazed at the color and detail in this shot my self. Even with RAW it seems that getting the exposure correct in camera counts for a lot!
Sorry Caedes friends...Ive been M.I.A for a long minute! LOL...Between shooting weddings for another company, getting my own photo biz established and my military schedule...Ive simply haven't had any "Fun Time" for photos...been all business (not fun)! I cant wait to start entering contests and posting some photos again...I guess I need to reconnect with why I even started with photography....for me...pure enjoyment!
