Hi Tim, thank you for the comment on Edinburgh. I don't think I'll crop the building on the right, because it is part of the picture, and the city. In Every magazine, you'll find this kind of picture of Edinburgh, it's a famous place to take pictures.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for visiting Terra Cotta Soldier #2, and for your comments. Note that the soldier was about 50 feet away from me, with so-so daytime natural lighting. Reviewing the EXIF data on the shot, it was shot at 200 mm, f2.8, 1/8 sec., ISO 100 (handheld; tripods not allowed in the museum; VR came in handy here!). I guess I could have pulled out my teleconverter, but that would make the effective aperture smaller, resulting in less background blur (and slower shutter speed; likely would not be able to hand-hold, unless I used higher ISO, increasing noise). I hadn't considered further blurring the background in PS, as I thought it was blurred enough for my taste. I may try it though. Thanks. Here is one situation where Nikon's 200 f/2 VR lens would have come in most handy, but don't have $4000 handy though, plus the beast weighs over 6 lbs....I can dream though...). Thanks again. Herman
Buzzing Around Town...She was a small image to begin with (about 1.5" square..can't remember the pixel ratio) @ 72 dpi...Blowing up and sharpening the image resulted in distortion; can't do any better on my machine, especially with web acquired images...Thank you for visiting...

Hi Tim
Thanks so much for your comments left on my White on White narcissus composition. I've wanted to do a white on white as a challenge for a long time - but my stuff is usually dark instead! I haven't got what's in my mind yet! But I will one day. Thanks again, Kate

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Thanks for stopping by again Tim! Your comments are always appreciated. For Ripple Mist, I'm definitely more encouraged to find that perfect picture. Ashley
