Robert, I took some time to slowly go through some of your gallery today. I saw some excellent work in there. I will be sure to come back and check it out some more as time permits. Very enjoyable. :o)
Hi Robert,
I am just trying to tempt you to visit Arizona with the "hot rocks" photo. It was hot! very hot but we were out hiking a trail by 6 AM to beat the heat. Glad you like the picture!
chswim07 & xcski08
i remember how it was in the old days
we would go outside in the grass and lay
down next to each other where we'd stay
up all night and talk to each other this way
we used to go everywhere together
doesn't matter if it was poor or fair weather
you asked me if i'd cheat i said never
i know i messed up but i'm gonna make it better
Thanks for your visit and comments Robert...I have just bought a new DSLR OLYMPUS E-410 and was trying out the limits of the lens. I thought it did well for a kit lens. I got the 410 to use on the hiking trail because of it's size and because the camera and lens are so light. We'll see how it holes up on the trail...D
Thanks for commenting on "Magnetic Island Postcard". It could be a little brighter to make it shine, though i think the brightness here is quite real to how I remember it. Glad you liked the composition.
WOW!! I just spent the last hour gazing in wide-eyed wonder at your magnificent gallery...I'm speechless. Your work is beautiful, and awe-inspiring...I simply don't know what else to say, everything you touch seems to be a work of art. I bow down to great talent such as yours...
Hi there....I wanted to say thank you for your wonderful comment about my snowclouds photo....it was an awesome sight for sure, and it means a lot to know you enjoyed it..thanx my friend..V
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your helpful comments about
"High Country Alpine Flowers" I wasn't aware the rocks were overexposed until you mentioned it and then I noticed it for myself. I am so grateful for your honest comments which help me learn to take better pictures. Please continue your very helpful advice on picture taking.
Many Thanks!
Diane
Hi Robert ... Appreciate your comment at Distractions #1 Thanks for trying to identify the butterfly. I tried searching the internet without success for "Wondering Monarch" and "Wandering Monarch" in case there was a typo. Oddly enough the following day I received the latest Feb/Mar issue of "Birds & Blooms". My butterfly was one of the featured articles. It's called an "American Lady" and apparently quite common. Thanks again my friend for your kind support.
Thanks for the comments Robert and your right about making the lines a bit darker on "down time". I just wanted the viewer to study the picture and not my ugly mug! Sort of a game for the eye so to speak...you know find out whats in the picture sort of thing. As the old saying goes"I made you look" (grin)...D

Hi Robert thanks for your insightful thoughts on Colorado Nat Park.
The Canyons in the Southwest are very impressive... to me anyway. Every rock formation has a name such as Balanced Rock, Flagpole Rock etc: etc: As the day goes by the rocks change to different shades of red, gold, pink. and the shadows are always changing the scene.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions on "Brrr!" I did consider cropping more since that heap of ice and snow in the lower left is not so pretty, but I rather like the perspective of looking down on the mallard in his icy little nook. Also, I've accidentally deleted the full-resolution image :-/
There's a good number of mallards who winter here in Ottawa, and they seem to get by no matter how cold it becomes! The weather was in the single digits (Fahrenheit) the day I took that photo.
Hi Robert,
I want to thank you for the wonderful comment on Early Morning Snow 3. Would you believe, it's not a true B&W. It just came out that way. I even tried to boost the saturation, to get the tree trunks to show a little color, but it didn't work. I am satisfied with the way it turned out anyway. Thanks again.
Thanks for your comment on my The Return rose photo Robert. I greatly appreciate that. Glad you liked it enough to have it on your DT too! I am honored!
I know right! I wanted to redo some of the shots and change them up-but sadly- these kids, my s and muses, cannot stay still and work for long periods of time. Haha, let alone repeat their previous moves. :( But thanks!

Hi Robert, Thanks a Million for viewing my post of " G E N 24". I am Honored that you liked it enough to make it a Favorite. Your comment was also very Supportive. Once Again Thank You !
Hey Robert, thanks for commenting on my image and leaving that info, it's really interesting and I really appreciate it. Eventually I'll take another go at photographing it but I'd absolutely love to see what you'd come up with! Cheers, Kelcey.
Hi Robert, how are you?...many thanks for your visit and insight on Winter 1929...I never thought about it til you mentioned it just how much effort went into that photo...a much hardier lot they were back then methinks, lol...appreciate your time and visit, Robert, and glad you enjoyed the picture.

Hi Robert. I don't remember if I thanked you for stopping by Platinum Tulip. I really do like it when you do and I appreciate your help and your words.

Thanks for the tip, Robert. Started playing with macros a few weeks ago and I swear I'm developing tunnel vision. I completely overlooked the little intruders.
Robert, thanks for taking the time to comment on my 'Summer Wildflowers 3' image. Appreciate this supportive way of commenting highly.
Regards, Cornelius
Tks for stopping by to view Kali! She is an amazing breed of dog and very much a lapdog although there is no room on your lap to put her lol. She is Jamie's dog, she is upset during the evenings unless he sits on the couch to snuggle up with her. What a suck. lol
Have a great day!

Hi Robert, many thanks for your visit and favorable feedback on The Works of Jack Frost...as always, it's great to hear from you and I appreciate your comments.
Hello Tris,
Yes, I have a Canon 180 macro. It is a fantastic lens;sharp. great color, a big lens but very manageable. It really blurs out the background on macros. The biggest advantage of this "long distance" lens is that you can shoot insects from enough distance so that you don't scare them to death, yet it looks like you got right in their faces. Great for flowers too. It's not a cheap lens. It is one of Canon's L lenses. Constant aperture of f/3.5.

Ty for the comment on Windows m8... the original that sticks out like a sore thumb and is causing massive traffic congestion is a real eyesore BUT i saw potential in it :)
Hello!
About "Motor Sikh": we saw a lot of Royal Enfield in India. Some 350 cc, some 500 cc, monocylinder. Incredible old motorcycles!
Thank you Robert :-)
Thanks Robert for your comment about "Chapel of the Holy Cross" The Chapel does blend in with the surroundings. It was over 100 that day and just sitting inside the cool chapel was heaven. It's a tourist attraction and they even have a gift shop in the basement... maybe the locals attend on Sunday
Always happy to hear your insightful and thoughtful remarks!
Diane
Thanks Robert for stopping by and taking a look at "Snail Speed" I found him to be a real cutie. The only problem was when he was aware of my presence he kept pulling his feelers in so I had to be a super quiet slealth. Maybe I can step up and try a Tortoise next
Appreciate all your great comments and words of encouragement...Diane
Hello, thanks for commenting on my rework of Noah's Tree - much appreciated. I was trying to work out why it was such a pale picture, and I think you're right that it was due to auto levels, probably in combination with the layering choices I made. Thanks again. :-)
Thanks for the comment you left at The Will To Hold Back. I understand what you mean about the contrast, but when I try to fix it in image enhancing software it always seems to make the pic too dark. Any suggestions. Thanks.
<PicScout>
Hello again Robert~~~many thanks for joining in and following the discussion thread that Noah started. I am so far from being a pro at PhotoShop that I thought this might be an opportunity to learn a few things.
I think it is a fun idea and a fun exercise. Hopefully and collectively we will all learn some new things!!!
Glad you were able to enjoy my rework as well as joining in the fun. I truly enjoyed your rework as well. Good job my friend :=)
Hi Robert, thankyou for leaving such thoughtful feedback on "Smile and Wave," I always appreciate hearing your local point of view on my stuff, Kelcey.
Hello Robert,
thank you v.much for your nice comment on "sunset" and your respectable point of view and promise that i'll take your advice inti concederation.
thanks a lot .:))
Hey Robert, Thank you for commenting on sky and sierra. I love to take pics so I just stuck it on here to see if everyone would tell me to leave or would let me stay.
wow!! I did not know that...that IS amazing! now that is a scary thought...at the river and a dragon fly lands on you..and you sink...lol..lol have a lovely day..and keep up the good work!
Thanks Robert for your comment about "Old Telephone Graveyard" I found it awful to ruin a beautiful beach with this old piece of junk. I was so surprised to see it there, I just had to take a picture
~Diane
I really appreciated your comment on my Bumper Crop of Lines photo. First of all, are relationship is good enough that we can actually do a compassionate critique and not get defensive. It helps tremendously that your suggestions are entirely valid. Thanks once again, my friend. May your day be one of unexpected joy.
Hi Robert, how are you? Many thanks for your visit to that Salty Old Dog...very pleased he caught your attention...and as always, I appreciate your time and thoughts.
Hi Robert you are welcome to an all expense paid weekend to Flintstone Manor...Just wait till you see all the great amenities we have to offer the hip stone age couple.
Glad you stopped to view these fab condos!
+++++++++
Cappadoica Turkey..... where vacant cave homes were located in the side of mountains, empty but they still had a plaque outside of each cave with a address number. I walked up and down along the hill looking inside of old abandoned cave homes, when I reached the far side I found some fairy rock and mushrooms formations. The scenery was very beautiful and unusual Some of the caves are now shops selling handmade plates, rugs, bowls and vases to tourists. Most of the cave dwellings were abandoned when the people moved down into the valley and built real houses to live in.

Thanks Robert for viewing "Holiday Lake" Sunsets can be very colorful and dramatic some evenings. Thunderstorms with lots of lighting sweeping across the lake are pretty impressive also. But most of the time it's very quiet and serene. I knew something wasn't quite right with it but couldn't make up my mind what...Gee I noticed doubles of "Green Bubbles" in new images, First time I've ever seen that happen..you guys falling asleep on Caedes?
Hi there, Robert...here to thank you for your kind review of Wood & Cord...I plan to do a small editing job on it and hope to post a slightly improved version tomorrow...thanks again...great to have you stop by.
Hi Robert, thank you for your comment on Chain of Rocks Bridge. I dont realize the pic look busy until I read all the comment :) And I do appreciate your comment.
This spot is very far from you, unfortunately, because it's very beautiful. That is the Ohrid Lake in Macedonia. The mountain is Galichica, a national park. In summer, swimming, sailing... In winter skiing. Very beautiful indeed. Anyway, you are welcome. :))))
Hey, thanks for the constructive criticism. I was aware of the fact that it faded out into the sky, and I also was aware of the green tinge. However I didn't think either would really affect the image. I think now if I were to do it over again, I'd make only the big parts of the bridge green, and I'd make sure it didn't fade into the sky. In fact I think I'm going to pull it up in the 'shop right now, than you!
Thanks for your comment on "God's living Rainbow".
I took that one a long time ago. It is in "Reptile Gardens" In South Dakota. If you're ever in the area, I'd reccomend it. It's a neat place, and they have lots of animal shows during the tourist season. For a photographer, they might let you Get some better pictures of the animals. I'm only amateur, and I only have an old 2 megapixel digital, so I didn't even bother to ask.

If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
