Welcome to caedes, and thank you for your generous words you were so kind to leave on “towards the sun” picture. I am glad it brought you some pleasure. I was amazed to discover such a beautie in full blossom in October. I guess mother nature will never cease to surprise me with its creations.

Jon,
Thanks for the generous comments regarding Dusk Colors, they're much appreciated. Regarding the 'vibrant colors,' as you put it, I make sure the scene I'm shooting already features them so that I don't have to create them. Post production (PP) in Adobe photoshop - essentially an assortment of digital dodges and burns (via layers), a little sharpening, and a saturation tweak - and the final image closely approximates what my naked eye was able to see.
Take care,
-Gregory
Hi Jon, thanks for the sweet and kind comments on Trees in line much appreciated.
I used a touch of Michael Orton's technique on this picture.
Have a great day :)
Thanks for taking the time to check out and comment on, Should or Shouldn't I. I have to admit, like the idiot I am I did try it ONCE. Amazing what alittle liquid courage can do for you.

Hi Jon, glad you liked the sunset sky in 'at the end of the day'. I wasn't too happy about the amount of noise in the darker area. I had used a high ISO of 1600, plus I had lightened the darker area to show some of the detail, so maybe it would have been better left darker. I have quite a few more sunset photos taken at the same place, so I will do some work on them so that the noise is less visible.
By the way, I nearly always take my photographs in RAW format, so that I can do some extra processing. ...However, I do like to get it right first time, but this gives you another opportunity to alter something if it is not how you wanted it to be in the first place.

Hi Jon, thanks for taking the time to comment on a couple of my Venice shots and my Tuscan Villa. Actually, I live a very humble life as a schoolteacher, but my family organized this trip and I decided I couldn't stay home. It was a once in a lifetime kind of trip.

Hey Jon! Thank you for your comments on View From Above. Let's see, this is definitely southern California since I was heading to San Diego. Just past the Salton Sea. Probably about 20 to 30 minutes from landing. I was flying from Colorado Springs sitting on the port side. Hope this helps!

Hi! I just want to thank you for your comment and advice on my "Orange flower". I must agree with you about it, but all my images are straight from camera. I will try to take care about it in future. Thanks again!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my post "Sunny Afternoon at Eagle Lake". I also thought I should crop the picture to include either more sky or more lake but it just wouldn't work. I will have to remember to set it up better when I take the next picture. The Eagle Lake we were on is in Minnesota just as pretty as any in Nevada but alas no mountains.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on Cascade Amphitheatre, your comments are greatly appreciated! ...echo!
I took a peek at your gallery and I quite like Trail Crest Panorama alot. Job well done there!

Thanks a lot for that nice comment about Pferdeschwemme Detail. I am happy, you like it, even I had to do so much manipulation about it - simply because it looked like the rainy day it was.
Sorry to all...I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to lately. I'm a 9 to 5er again (actually more like 8:15 to 7:30 these days!!) Don't worry, I still see all of your wonderful posts, if only for a second.

A nice, interesting photo. Nothing truly special though, it doesn't really evoke much emotion in me. I do however think you have an absolutely fabulous gallery, and am adding you as a friend to see all your new pictures.

Jon, thanks for your comments on my "Optical Illusion" photo. The early morning light really helped -- I don't think it would have been a very good shot otherwise. For more info about the Belmont Slough, here is a LINK. - Greg
Hi Jon, thanks for your comments on my recent photographs and also for observing how I blocked the sun on the balcony photograph and deliberately shot through the bars. You understand what I was trying to capture which seems to have not been noticed by a lot of people! thanks again - and yes I am being contemplative in my avatar - although I do look a bit cross-eyed! lol! which is what happens when you have to make an image so small!! :)

G'day Jon,
Thanks for the nice response to Sunburst. I'm really looking forward to having a camera with a decent sensor and raw files so I can stop having to "de-noise" every photo with a dark cloud in it! :)
Peace,
Mikel.
Hey, Jon, thanks for your comment on my "a snake on the trail" photo. As a matter of fact, I didn't know for sure whether it was venomous or not, at the time I was trying to get it to pose for me. Sometimes I think carrying a camera around makes me stupid! -- Greg
Hello Jon. Thank you for your comments about “Patterson’s Curse”. Putting it in your favourites is probably the best vote of approval you could give it :-)
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on leaf on deck, your comments are greatly appreciated! The deck actually is that color (old pressure treated wood does that when it's been weathered). Aside from a small bit of post processing to boost saturation and shadows it's as seen through the lens.

Hey, Jon, thanks for your comments on my "Nevada scenery" photo. I was driving in the early morning and stopped for gas, and when I got out of my car, I beheld that mountain vista -- and for a moment, I wondered if I'd mistakenly detoured into Colorado! -- Greg

Thanks so much Jon for your comment on "Soft" I really appreciate it! and i completely agree with you about the focus, thats one thing that bothered me about it. thanks for the feedback! ~abby
Thanks for the comments on 'Myrtle Creek' very much appreciated. I'm usually up there a few times in July, maybe I'll see you...from a distance of course. The hike up to the mountain and back is bad enough.
