Hi Steve, sorry I've not been around for nearly a week, and haven't been able to catch up with your posts. Just been looking at your new images...what can I say? Fantastic work....getting more intricate, and each one so individual. You are building up an impressive gallery....take care...Jacquie
Just wanted to let you know I think your gallery is an awesome display of abstract art. Loved looking at it and even added some to my favorites. Keep up the good work.
Hi Steve.. thanks for your wonderful comment on Dreamtime #1.. i'm glad you liked it..
I really enjoyed putting it all together.. I will be making more like this when I get a chance
Hi Steve...welcome back.Have missed your interesting images and fractals. Many thanks for your kind comments on Normanton Church Tower. I got funny looks off people passing by to get this one...as I was leaning right over backwards on some rocks at the edge of the lake where it stands, but your words make it worthwhile....many thanks...Jacquie
Hi again Steve.. this time to drop in to say thanks for your comment on Merry Christmas... i'm glad you enjoyed it... I wish you and your family a very merry and safe Christmas...
Hi Steve, you said:
Hello Kate, I love this image "Just Trees", the light and dark contrasts really well, very crisp and extreamly interesting. I have been checking out your gallery and you certainly Know your way around a camara !, The image "Dark Rain" is to me very good indeed, excellent vision to have even thought of taking it at that angle and in that light. Looking foreward to veiwing more as time goes by. Well done, Steve.
Thank you so much - you don't know how much I appreciated your comments! "Dark Rain" is my own favourite and I'm leaving it on - even though it got such a horrendously bad mark in that c-index! I don't care - and it's so good you like it too. You've made me feel good about myself again!
Kate
Thanks very much Steve for dropping by my park scene and heather bed. It is always nice to see you've been in and had a look! I look back on the warm days of spring and summer with longing! Roll on next year!
Re "Burning Bright"
Hi Steve
Thanks for comments - which are the same as my feelings on this one! My hubby wondered why I didn't make more flowers in focus - but like you, I like the feeling of them in the background. Thanks for visiting! Kate
Hi Steve
You are a poppet admiring my starling shot (20 years ago). So frustrating looking at it now! They were lining up on the handles of the wheelbarrow for a dip - and the water showers were wonderful. Thanks also for compliment about light and shade and Prague. Wonderful place we visited last year. We loved it - culture vultures indeed there. I so recommend a visit!
Hi Steve, sorry I've not been on top of your recent posts...at the moment I am involved in other projects that will take me away from Caedes for a while. I've just had a chance to catch up with your work...you are doing just great, and creating an awesome collection.
I will look in from time to time, but meanwhile, I send very best wishes for Xmas and every success for the New Year. Take care...Jacquie
Hi Steve
Thanks for compliment re my Moving Lights reflect photo. I'm getting fractual aren't I?? Actually I've always liked shapes and shadows etc, so I guess photography and me are stuck for ever - I leave the fractals to you clever things! Kate
Hi Steve
Yes, that's me - wrinkly but still no grey! My little icon shows me at sweet 22 in Nov 1968 - being lectured by my mother-in-law! So now you know the nutty woman who loves your work!! Kate
Trapped behind shadows
Thanks Steve! I just can't resist shadow shots - or good contrast shots! Think it must be my rubbish eyesight!! Thanks a lot for visiting - but don't forget!! I know how time consuming it all is, so I'm happy for you to look and dash off!! Honestly!! Though it would be great to hear from you - especially if I shock you with one! Kate
Hi again Steve.. thanks for the wonderful comment on A New Beginning.. i'm glad you liked and fav'd it.. it took a very long time to do.. and is now going to be a cd cover.. =D
Hi Steve
Re the bluebells? Yes out in the open in Exeter on the railway embankment. They were such a rich blue! So I can't lay claim to the colour! Thanks for compliments! Kate
Thanks Steve on my traditional building photo. The house was very close to my paternal granny's home on Isle Tanera, so it was a bit of an emotional visit!! Glad you liked the contrast between the floowers and the stone, as always you got my intended message! Thanks again, Kate
Never seen a B&W image and a colour image on the same composition !. (Thats what it looked like anyway). Your photographic credentials are most impressive Kate. A very different image using your old friends dark and light. Excellent.
PS
Looking forward to your creations now you have Photoshop to play with. (Re Shadows on grass)
Well I loaded a black and white shot into Photoshop - then redesignated it as a colour shot and painted in the little coloured bits! It was just a first try! Thanks for your comments. Yes, I shall have a play using photoshop, but where it will take me? Who knows! Kate
The sort of thing you sometimes see on the TV, you must have been in just the right place at just the right time!. At least the line painter had a sense of humour. Made me smile, well done, different and enjoyable (Re Who did That?)
Gosh, I wasn't quick enough to elaborate on the description! This was a b&w negative scanned in then my clumsy attempts in PhotoShop did the colour!! Glad it amused you! Thanks so much for dropping it to see my latest attempts! Kate
Hi Steve
Glad you liked the rocks!! They do have beautiful colours. I was just so glad to get out and about - it has done nothing but rain here for the last 2 months!! Roll on tomorrow! Kate
Thanks Steve! My photo of the telegraph poles was as much an exercise in processing a shot without losing definition - even on a dull day, with little light and on telephoto! Bless you! I'm so used to getting 0 - 3 in the voting booth - I'm getting slightly hysterical about it all! LOL Kate
Hi Steve! Thanks for your visit to my Windy moirning on the shore. Yes, that's the start of the houses on the other side of the bay. This is the point that when the waves come over (happens often in the winter) the police don't let us get to the other side! Glad you found it a wild and impressive sea - the foam was pretty wild - I guess that's why it is si white! Kate
Hello Steve
So glad you saw the fur coat (as I do) in the sand and sea picture. The sand is quite dark, so it makes a good contrast with the white foam! Thanks again for dropping in - it is so much appreciated. Kate
Ah Steve - if only that were true about my competence with PhotoShop! I was just so proud of my moon photo - I just had to put it somewhere! Thank you so much for your friendship in 2006 - I am looking forward to 2007 - and lots more! Take care, Kate
Hi Steve...just popped in to catch up...WOW. You are still producing some great images. I just adore Faith. I hope you had a good Xmas, and wish you every success for the New Year. Take care....Jacquie
Hi Steve (Re Great close up Kate, must be quite mild there at the moment)
Well I guess it is mild - wet and windy, but mild! This orchid was just sitting at the window halfway up the stairs - pot bound and fighting for re-potting! We brought the plant up here from London and have been very pleased that they seem to like this light! Same goes for cacti, strangely enough! Kate
Thanks Steve for your comments on my I'll take the low road photo. I've got to say it is a good place - and my grandparents picked well!! Would you believe I actually miss the ratrace on occasions, but once I get my 'fix' I'm quite happy to come home. Kate
Love the light foreground and the dark hole with the lights beyond. great contrasts as usual. really good Kate. (Re What concrete)
Hi Steve, well this was an angry picture from me! One "£&* day at the office and me struggling to keep my cool! The outside is my office block wall at 45 degree angle (the raised looking bits are actually concave not raised) - and the dark scene was the view at the us stop waiting for the bus home! Don't think I'll delay my retirement much longer!! LOL Take care, Kate
me again this time for Perfect and Sweet Service... I couldnt believe it either when I saw it.. they also had a liquor one but he was pretty expensive... imagine the money they would make on that...
Thank you so much - I am very flattered by your comments on my Come for a paddle seaweed image. My hubby gave me a new lens for Christmas. Its a telephoto Nikkor 55 - 200mm. When you shoot at its biggest magnification (200mm), it has a short depth of field - ie the bit in focus is probably only 1 - 2 feet. So you have to focus well on what you want - but its a really good lens and I'm so happy with the results so far! Glad you like it!! Kate
Hi Steve
Yup, I'm in an in your face mood today - guess its the weather, and roof leaks, and builders... you name it! Ah well! Glad you appreciate my fiery tulip - it was just too bright to ignore! Kate
Thanks Steve re my White on White. I wanted to keep it simple and pure, so I took it against a white curtain, then faded the surrounds in PhotoShop. So glad you like it! Kate
Hi Steve
Well we got the usual - rain and hail yeuk! Maybe snow this week? Yes you are right - it would be a cracker in black and white!! (Snow coming?) Kate
The camara never lies !!!. Would,nt like them with my eggs and bacon. You chose a good colour for them Kate against the grass.
Well done
Steve
LOL Steve! Well the poor things looked so bedraggled - I had to cheer them up. Used PhotoShop Elements, 'looped' the are, gave it a big 'feather' then hiked up the saturation! Hey presto that's what happened! Thanks for coming in and visiting, Kate
Hi Steve
I've been dashing about doing things (marmalade included), so apologies for not getting back sooner. Thanks so much for your spot-on comments as ever. Its been a long winter already (so wet here), so I think I'm going a bit stir-crazy with my photography. Still its fun learning a bit more each time! Take care, Kate
Hi Steve,
Well my Black Vase follows your instructions on your sig "be true to yourself". Every now and then I just HAVE to post the picture which is 'me'! I'm never sure how it will be received, but I'm so glad you like it! Kate
Hi Steve,
Thanks so much for your comments on every mirror tells a story and the other one too. I'm only chasing your excellence with PhotoShop! I'm trying out a few ideas and it is fun! Thanks as always, Kate
Hi Steve
Well you know what its like getting a new toy? The PhotoShop is taking up my evenings (poor old hubby) - but at least he plays with the CS version on his PC during the day, lucky thing. Glad you are seeing a different side to my photos - I'd really love to do something surreal one day! Have a good one! Kate
Hi Steve
Yes, I reckon you'd be walking as much as, if not more than I have done over the past 20 years! Always something to see, if you look. My brother and wife, who live from their car and house still can't imagine why we live here - ah well, takes imagination I guess! Glad you liked and shared my wednesday walk on that beach! Kate
Thank you Steve for all the great support that you have given me! It is heartwarming to read your comments and I appreciate them very much. I had a peek at your gallery. I find that you have a terrific graphic style and that your images are powerful, colourful and well composed. Josette :)
Hiya! Hope you are having a lovely-ful Valentine's day! I thought you would like my liquid silver sand pic - its the nearest I can get to a fractal - nature's way! lol Went back to the beach and picked the only dull hour of the day - typical!! Hope your day is scrumptious! Have just make chocolate pudding - mmmm! Kate
Hi Steve
Thanks for your continued lovely support for my varied postings! Yes, it is fun, horrible, exciting and wet being out on days like that! The worst part is usually trying to keep a straight line on the pavement and not end up as car-fodder! Have a good week now! Kate
Hi Steve,
Re my Scented heavy Metal? All photograph apart from a plastic effect on the background (which was a carpet!). Its a gorgeous bowl and was a present last Sep from my 2nd cousin who lives here! To the best of my knowledge its steel, beaten burned and burnished, to give those lovely colours. By the way, thanks for the compliments - I would have liked to do photography professionally - but a bit old now, I'm afraid! Thanks for everything, Kate
Ah Steve, thank you for your compliments re my pointy end of the boat! From one who takes pixels and makes them fantastic!!!.... I take it as a huge compliment, your praise for seeing some things out there in the world. Kate
Hello Steve
So glad you liked my mossy branch, which delighted me on my walk in the castle grounds yesterday. It is such an interesting place, just full of things great and tiny to look at. Have a good day! Kate
Thanks Steve
Glad you liked my treatment of my phormiums - pink and green! They look terrific and there are so many different shades and stripes to choose from! Bit difficult to photograph as they stick out all over the place! The only thing os to get in as close as possible. Glad you liked the abstract nature of my pic! Kate
Hi Steve
Yes, they sure were a pretty pair of ewes - so clean! I can't say that about some others I can tell you, lol! Can't wait for March/April and the lambs - that's my favourite time with these! Thanks for dropping in, Kate
PS Thanks also for your comment on my Blue Forest pic! I'm glad you saw other things in it, such as a Roman fresco? Myself, I came to see a sort of Egyptian field of corn or desert painting! I'm glad I had a play around. The patterns in the sand were, I think, made by those tube fish? I think those long shells you see on the shore were lined up by the tide, then they propelled themselves away, leaving the strange pattern! Have a good day! Kate
Thanks Steve for your comments on the Croft picture. Yes, the wind can sure blow across there - and does on many occasions! It only takes one sunny day though, to make you forget all about it. Thanks as always, for dropping in to look at my pics, Kate
Ah Steve, thanks so much - you've helped me along here more than you probably think! You've given me the confidence to try out different things, so I thank you for your unfailing support.
When I finally retire (!?) and they let me go - I might just try an on-line shop - you never know! Kate
Hi Steve, thanks very much for your nice comment on "Mirror" and
btw..don't sell yourself short..lol..I really liked your photo and would love to see some more:))
LOL Steve - well, bed is probably the only place that the camera is a little out of reach!! I carry around a small Sony CyberShot camera in my bag - I'm not going to miss an opportunity if one presents itself! Thanks as ever for your lovely comments - have a good day! Kate
Hi Steve, yes, that was a heck of a lovely holiday in Prague! This was behind our hotel. We overfilled on music and theatres and markets and cafe life - wish I was there now! Kate
Hi Steve!
Yes, the lady was my mum - that's her on her 21st birthday in 1935. I just thought the way they reflected in the mirror was special. Thanks again, Kate
Hi Steve,
Yes - I reckon my Light and Glass is a hybrid fractal - don't you?? I was blown away when I saw the light coming through this green dish on my window-sill. I keep looking at it myself - the patterns are a bit hypnotic aren't they? It's good to feel good about something isn't it? lol Thanks Steve, Kate
Thanks Steve - I knew you would understand. It was the most appropriate thing I could find at short notice! It wasn't posted for Kudos! Maybe this will do better than the 25s I've been getting of late? lol Thanks Steve, you're a real friend, Kate
We are like people looking for something they have in their hands all the time; we're looking in all directions except at the thing we want, which is probably why we haven't found it.(Plato, 380BC)
Hi Steve.. thanks for your wonderful comments on Look inside the crystal ball and Apophysis butterfly #1... i'm glad you enjoyed them and that it's inspired you to try apophysis again.. i look forward to seeing your work.. =)
Hi Steve,
Yes Shirley was from Granada and was a terrific natural model. I loved this one with low light, black leather coat and pushing film to the limit! The old days were quite good fun! Thanks for your appreciation, Kate

Thanks Steve for veiwing and commenting on my post of "Nesting 12". Glad you liked it, and hope you get time to veiw the rest of this Series. Thanks Again.
Thanks Steve
I'm glad you see the same things as I do with They call me Mellow Yellow photo. Yes, the glass was dirty and rainy, but I liked it and thought it added to the picture. I just thought the gas boat and the bus shelter was too good a combination to miss! Thanks again, Kate
Thank you Steve - I'm glad you like my Lime Fresh flower photo. I was lucky - they are just outside my work window, so I just dashed out at lunchtime and took a few photos. It is a pretty thing and we are all pleased to see it at this time of year! Mind you, now they are forecasting snow for us, so I'm not really looking forward to that - with my daffodils in bloom outside and my trees breaking buds - ah well! The trials of living here I suppose. Thank you again, Kate
