Hello Rye, welcome to caedes.net hope u have a good time u browsing & uploading, just dropping by to say thanx for the comment u left on 'lady in noir' glad u like it & i appreciate the support :~)
My Wasp 5 image was taken in early Spring when the air was still cool. These little guys are not that agressive then so getting close was not a problem. Thanks Rye for taking the time to view and comment on this image.

Thanks for your comments on my posting "Keys". While the picture would certainly be different with all the keys being in focus, it would neither have the same feeling nor have been particularily challenging to take. The depth of field was intentional but, perhaps, a personal preference.

If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Thanks for your generous comments on '..glass ceiling'. The National Gallery is a great building, but this shot is from an unusual angle. Glad you enjoyed it! - Dave
Hi Rye...thanks for your nice comment on River of Snow. I love the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, and try to visit them as often as I can. Glad you enjoyed the photo.
Hey there Rye! Wow...You made my day! I returned home to see if anyone had checked out my image, and I read your comment. I just want you to know that I've been struggling to make this style work and you've inspired me to keep trying! Thanks again, your comments have made a difference, cheers...
thanks Rye...cheered me up a bit, as I've been having a depressing day even though it so nice outside. Do you know HOW I would go about focusing? I'd rather not convert to photoshop but maybe I should eh?
Thanks for your kind comment on "Waterworlds", Rye - it was taken with a Minolta Dimage Z1, which has a fixed lens. I bought it for the 10x optical zoom, but the macro capability has impressed me most :-)
Thanx Rye for your positive feedback on "After the storm #2". Glad you liked both pictures. If u put the together you get the picture of the whole bay. :o)
I wanted to thank you so much for you kind comment on Seabirds Galore...it means a lot to me to know someone really enjoys one of my photos. THanx again...verena

Hi Rye, Many thanks for taking the time to view and leave a comment on 'Caterpillar'. This took a while to render too ( I went to bed and it was done in the morning). I will look out for your image but if you can give me a shout when it goes on I will definitely check it out.

Hello Rye,
Thanks for viewing and appreciating the piece...If you want to create something similar..important things to remember: tripod tripod tripod! and after that..your ISO, to reduce grain use ISO100-200, and vary the shutter speed..the longer you do it, the nicer and brighter the lines..but don't make it too long otherwise you'll get colour burn. and i didnt use any filters, just a standard UV protective one covering my 50mm lens. with long exposure photography, i've found film is alot better medium to work with..it just comes out so much nicer than digital (which tend to result in lots of noise from the CCD). hope it helped..good luck!

"This existence of ours is as transient as Autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is a flash of lightning in the sky. Rushing by, like a torrent down a steep mountain. "

Hello Rye. Thanks for your appreciative comment on my Brass Nut picture. I'm a complete novice on here and am pleased by what you said. Thanks. Your gallery is very impressive. Your high standards and quality have given me a level to aspire to.

I see you have left me superb compliments on "Sinai mountains". They are much apprecited. The photo was taken in 2004 during my summer holiday in Sinai, Egypt. I am playing with panoramas and came back to my old captures to experiment. Glad you liked the result.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.
