You will love every minute here I am sure and should be trusted as one of the OLDEST CAEDES ADDICTS at present [oldest meaning only the duration of my membership ...LOL]
See you around !!!
Hi Marshall and hope you like caedes. There are alot of good people on here who don't mind helpling each other out. I want to say thank you too for the nice comment on my post "Pike Lake Sunset" Have fun on here and hope to see you again. Sandi
My gratitude, Marshall, for your complimentary comment on 'Hanging On'. I swear I had never seen such a strange worm/catipillar until that day, and was completely fascinated by its strange color. Also, welcome to Caedes. I noticed you were semi new, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do. This is a kind, yet helpful place, absolutely wonderful for aspiring photographers/artists. You've got a beautiful gallery going, and I look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks again. Ashley
I can't help myself I just like to visualize shapes in all kinds of things. It must have started when I used to look at cloud formations when I was small. Thanks for the nice comment on "Poodle Moss" Marshall. I really appreciate it.

Hi Marshall, thank you so very much on all your kind comments in my gallery. I appreciate you taking the time to look and comment. Praise from someone who takes such amazing pics as you is praise indeed. Jo

Thank-you Marshall for the compliments on Magical Tree. There actually was a moon out that day, it just wasn't a full one and was in the other direction. I was thinking Skittles when I turned the tree purple but you're right it does look kinda scifi! Kirk's with some alien chick behind that rock! Heh heh!
'Lisa
Ha Ha I suppose I should read 1 comment at a time, it wasn't you that said scifi! But that's pretty much what you were getting at any way : ) I'm glad you like it! I don't think I've seen the particular movie you mentioned but I have enjoyed the scenery fron some of those old westerns. Thanks again!
'Lisa
Thank-you Marshall, you're so sweet with your comments :) Cold and wet maybe but I don't scare that easily, except for maybe the traffic in Sanfransisco! LOL
It's nice to have you as a friend Marshall ;)

Hi marshall! I'm running a bit behind, been busy lately. Thanks as always for such kind words on Moments. Yeah, I was having a Hallmark moment! (grin!) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
'Lisa
Like I said Marshall, great minds think alike! Nya, nya, I beat you to it! (giggle) Just kidding. I'm glad you enjoyed Ponder, It's all about the fun. (and I think it's fun reading your comments too)! I guess my thoughts on the title were too obscure, Pond-er (it's a pond) I started to spell it like that but decided against it. I think I should have. Anyway, thank-you Marshall :)

Hi Marshall!
The song thrush photo? Gorse is also known by some as whins - is that familiar? Prickly stuff but tough as old boots. The slope behind is a small hill (the bigger ones are in Harris) - my village is called Cnoc (or Knock, wrongly, in English). Cnoc means a hill! Glad you liked the pic, Kate
Hi Marshall
Glad you found the sculpture interesting. He is a very talented man and I have edited the description. I copy it for your interest. Thanks again, Kate
Yes the fish are gorgeous aren't they? I have updated the description, but am copying it here for your info.
Part of a vertical sculpture on the side of one of the buildings in town. It's one of a couple of such lively, fun sculptures which brighten up our days. The sculptor is called Iain Brady, a teacher at the Nicolson Institute (senior school) in Stornoway. He works a lot in papier mache and his work reflects the Islands and the wild life here (interpret that one as you will - lol).
You will find a bit about hi on-line, but be careful - his name is IAIN Brady not Ian (who is a bad person). Glad you like his work. The whole thing goes up the side of a wall and is about 20+ft tall? Kate
Hi Marshall
Glad you like my Mossy Branch. I just wish I could post the lovely woody smells as well - then your memories would be complete? Thanks, Kate
Hi Marshall
It certainly was a cccold project catching the Eclipse of the Moon - but I was glad (afterwards) that the clouds stayed away! lol Thanks for coming in, Kate
Thanks a lot Marshall! Shirley was taken 20+ years ago in London. Thise were the days of 2nd hand Pentax bodies, used but good lenses and cheap Orwo b&w film. Fun times, we worked hard but had fun in the darkroom afterwards! We certainly felt a sense of achievement when a print came out well! Thanks again, so much, for the compliments, Kate
We are like people looking for something they have in their hands all the time; we're looking in all directions except at the thing we want, which is probably why we haven't found it.(Plato, 380BC)
Hi Marshall,
I hope you do get to Europe one day. I love NW Italy for it's soft light and dreamy landscapes in the hills; Greece, because it is crazy!; cities such as Rome, Florence, Paris and Prague for their architecture and elegance - and of course, the wine and food! Prague was a very pleasant surprise and a wondrous place if you like music and theatres. Thanks as always for coming in to tell me you liked the picture of Prague, Kate
Hi Marshall,
Thank you a lot for your comment on "Red Screws", I do appreciate that,
It makes a fascinating subject indeed, I have a few more shots of those screws and maybe some more hardware shots today,
thank you marshall for your kind words on my "shocked forest".this is a very old work of mine and i'm both flattered and interested by your comments.the work is a very old one of mine(1980)and was created about two weeks before the first of my many breakdowns.i am a manic depressive as was van gogh and i tend to produce my best work when i'm in the manic phase of the illness.i'm not bothered any more about revealing this info as i don't regard it as taboo any more.i am no photographer but i like to think i recognise talent when i see it and i reckon you have it in abundance.keep up the good work, your friend simon.
me again!thanks for viewing my "turmoil".i'd be very interested in finding out more about that war film you mentioned.this is,i believe,my most shocking/powerful work and i'd love to find out if i have subconsciously picked up influences from elsewhere.thanks again-simon.
Hi Marshall
I'm really glad you like my Greenfinches on the Alders. It was so satisfying to capture them in the trees - I sneaked around some bushes - and they stayed still for me (for once!). My Bluegrass was a little diversion but I find it quite calming just to look at the individual blades flowing and intertwining. Thank you for coming in to see and to tell me how you thought about them, Kate
Ah Marshall, you are lovely. Thanks for your kind appraisal of my Carnations picture. I'm afraid the flowers were beautiful in their own right - I just had to do the easy part and take the photo. It is fun to play with formats isn't it? I'm so glad we have that freedom now! Have a great weekend, Kate
Thanks a lot for your nice comment on "other side candy", I do appreciate that a lot,
Actually there are just 3 light sources. The greatest amount of light is coming from a white tl-light above and a little behind the subject, that is causing the hi-key background and the dark front of the box, second in row is light from a window the right hand side and finally I am holding a big white paper on the left to diffuse the shadows.
Hi Marshall
I'm so glad to be able to share my wonderful tuesday walk with you all! One day makes up for all the winter ones! lol Thank you so much for your kind words - you would be welcome in this harbour anytime!! Kate
Hi Marshall! Wasn't my goose a lovely fellow? We looked at each other through an aluminium gate - but I only had my camera! I'll have to have something tasty next time. Thanks and have a great weekend! Kate
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Hey Marshall,
Thanks a lot for your kind comments on "Portrait?" and "Side", I do appreciate that a lot,
Actually, I was planning on posting only "Portrait?", I'm glad to see that "Side" (which I thought to be not as good) is more popular here,
Thanks also for your comment on "Soft Yellow", Glad you like it,
