welcome you guys. don't know who will end up reading this, but i just wanted to say that *hmm* I don't even have a teeny-weeny bit of experience in using any of these softwares that you pple out there are naming. I'm interested in this... definitely. I've been recommending caedes to practically everyone i know. But I am unable to try out designing such stuff... not until I manage to land my hands on a reasonable-enough software. Apologies for that... (some member i am... how useless)

Shao - thankyou for your taking the time to comment on "They emerge". I have been looking at Speedy_10's series of dream images which suggested alien crafts to me, and thought about what the aliens would look like. But to create really spooky aliens would take more time and talent than I have, so I went for cartoon style! (much easier as I am learning still.) Hope your brothers like them! If they do, I'll do some more!
Also, you could download Moray/Povray for free too from the official site, http://www.povray.org/ and http://www.stmuc.com/moray/. It is easy enough to learn, and it has hints etc in the program itself.
