Thank you Vladimir for taking the time to view and post a comment on this image. I was on my way to the grocery store when I saw the beautiful clouds. I stopped along the way to photograph this sunset. I have several photos of this vibrant sunset to upload. I'm glad that you like this Macon Sunset 3 photo.

Vladimir, thanks for also commenting On a Clear day and again I'm pleased it brings back fond memories for you.. I'll send you a personal with the location of the shot....Mike
Hi Vladimir, glad you had a chance to see Heart of the Canyon, and thanks for leaving a comment. Photos inside the canyon are tough to take without shadows, but the color of the rick is heightened by the low sun angle, so the shadows were acceptable.
Hey, its me again...thanks for the comments on my Phantom photos. Glad you liked these shots...a few more to post this week. Obviously, visiting the carrier was a once in a lifetime experience. All my shots related to Navy aircraft and the carrier USS Constellation were taken in 1972.

In answer to your question about "Lakeside Early," the far path is not perpendicular to the path I was standing on. So it appears to rise. My camera was held plumb and level during the photo (the tree to the right is straight up and down). In mechanical drafting, this would be called an "isometric" effect. Funny though, my mind knows the layout and has been trained to see it "correctly," so I didn't even notice this in the photo until you and several other people mentioned it. A good reason for photographers to look at everything, even the familiar with "new eyes!" Steve
Thanks Vladimir for your comments on "3 Balls." About the res. I made this before I thought to upload it here at caedes, so I made it to fit my screen. In the future I will try to make them larger.

Hello Vladimir! My Dandelion Sunset photo was an unplanned event. I went to photograph the sunset and decided to see what I'd get with a low telephoto macro shot. I'm glad that you like the results and I appreciate your support.

Thanks for the nice compliment on "Gold Coast." I really appreciate you letting me know your preference on the framing - I wasn't sure I liked it either, but it seemed to need a small surround of some sort. I normally stick with black in such circumstances, and will in the future. Steve
Thank you for the nice compliment on "Smith Falls." I visited it 3 times before getting a shot I like. Waterfalls tend to be in dark canyons here and depending on the direction of the sun, it is very difficult to get a good across the scene exposure. So I really appreciate all the nice comments on this. Steve
Vladimir,
I am very pleased that you enjoyed visiting my: Navajp Country. Sunset on the Mittens image. You are not the first one to mention that the horizon seems tilted. It is an illusion. My wife and I are standing about 600 feet above the canyon floor, the steep clifs rush out onto the canyon floor and give thre impresion of the tilting of the horiaion. If you look at the righrt side of he image you can see that it is starting to level off. I was going to level the image before posting but then I wold have heard aout the "straight horizion" from those that have lived there. Thank you for our input. It is so important that we all do this as it helps us to corect our mistakes and learn from each other,

Thanks on behalf of Alexis and me for the nice compliment on "Early Morning Mist." I keep an ultra-violet filter on my camera to protect the lens, but otherwise, no filter was used during the shot. Alexis did tweak the color a bit I believe, but the fog is natural. Mainly, she removed a white pickup truck that marred the scene, and a little natural gas pipeline warning sign. I don't know how she does these things so well - I'm just the photo guy! But thank you for letting us know you enjoyed the image. We both appreciate your support. Steve
Hi Vladimir, I appreciate you comment on Wooden Star, a kind of natural fractal that I like The great framing was made by bjb ! Thanks for viewing and commenting !
Hi again ! Neon Leaf 2 is another natural fractal I´m happy you liked. There are some blues in one corner that I´m not quite pleased with but in spite of that it´s a favourite. Thanks for commenting, Vladimir !
Vladimir;
Thank you for your observations about my image From the Earth. It was three days worth the effort and the results were just as palnned. As an aspiring photographer, rememer that it will not always be a quick shot. When your cerative juices are flowing follow them all of the way through to completion. Many attempts will become failures, but those that happen will thrill you forever. I should change the word failure to not accepable. There are no failures in photography only learning situations. Always study your unacceptable images to learn what you did wrong and learn by it. Good Luck. If I can ever be of any help my e-mail is located on my profle page.

Vladimir;
Your observation about my Cottonwood Lake image is correrct. The clouds were moving in and out all day. I saw the final image that I wanted to capture in my mind. All I ha dto do was sit and wait. It didn't take long. Maybe a half hour but what a difference it made!

I am sorry that I have not responded to your comments about my; Carnations and Vase, image before now. I am so pleased that you liked my dedication of it to you. It was the least that I could do after all of the kind words that you wrote to me about my work. Once again accept my apology for the late answer. A death of a dear friend's daughter has put me behind in all of my correspondence.

Thanks for visiting my Carnation Ice Cream, image. This was a fun set-up. I sometimes feel that my still life's get a bit to formal. This type of work allows me to relax and have fun.

Hi, Vladimir! Thanks very much for your nice comment on "Spheric Idea".
I created this composition with "Bryce 5", and the rendering is made in the same application. It is necessary to make many more manipulations in the cource of work if you have a knowledge of the application, but the results are very nice and the work gives a kick -- try-out! Good luck!
thanks for the post on Hanalei Dusk Lookout. 90 miles - so im guessing you live on Oahau... in which case you should definitely take a trip to Kauai's north shore sometime soon :-)
hey Vladimir.. ty for commenting on Essence Of Humanity.. ive gotten many comments on how the image was blurred.. it was an intentional move, so that the helix wouldnt looks just slapped on.. i will be posting an updated version within a couple days, so keep your eyes open for it.. again, ty for the comment and support..
Vladimir, thanks for your comments on Great Sand Dunes at Sunset. I'm very glad you enjoyed this shot. In answer to your question, I had no idea this image was so highly ranked in comparison to others. My main reaction is that I feel extremely blessed to have been at that place at that time with a camera and lens and tripod. Mother nature did all the important work there, I just took her picture.
Vlad, thanks for your comments on several of my shots. I appreciate that you think I'm a decent photographer...but I'm really tempted to start a company and name it "Blind Squirrel Photography", after the saying "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally". In other words, I have to work really, really hard at photography and the good shots I get are a very, very small percent of the ones I take. After nearly a year of almost continual effort, I am beginning to "see" more photos in the world around me and seem to have a little better chance of actually getting them into the camera. This is rewarding, but, frankly it is comments such as yours which really keep me going. So thanks again! Mike

Vlad;
Somehow I never saw your comments about my Antelope Canyon image until today. I am sorry for the delayy in my answering. I am very pleased that you liked the series. It will be a hard one to top but I will try. I am humbled by your words.

Thanks Vladimir. I was shooting with a 100-400 zoom with a Canon 10 D, which makes it a 160-640 zoom. This shot was taken with the lens at 200mm so effective focal length 320mm, f6.7, 1/1000th. I was on the Southern Peninsula Rescue Boat, which is a bit smaller that the yacht I was shooting (probably 22-25 ft). It was "quite " rough and I was bracing myself against the wheelhouse most of the time, but I've got used to moving with the boat and I wear a big towel aroung my neck to wipe off any spray.
The only time I have ever fallen off (with all my gear!!) was on a big boat, at anchor in a flat calm. Doesn't make much sense. All the gear now replaced - same lenses and a 20D.

Thanks Vladimir for your appreciative comments on "Out For a Stroll". They are much appreciated.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling; “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.

Wow thanks for pointing out that Butterfly Cone Flower was the highest rating on the site. thats crazy to me! Even tho I love this shot and feel very lucky, your still too kind.
I really really appreciate the compliment. thank you! How exciting.
Thank you Vladimir for the very nice comments on my Crawfordville Critters 9 image. Again I appreciate your support of my work. I'm glad that you like it. I love the results that I've gotten with this new camera this year.
